Frankenmuth, Michigan
This is definitely one of the best towns to spend your winter holiday in. And not just because this place is home to the world’s largest Christmas-themed store, Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland. Also called “Little Bavaria”, Frankenmuth looks like you’ve stepped right into a fairy tale.
German-influenced architecture, 150 trees decked with white lights, horse-drawn carriages, all this stuff together creates a magical place. At the heart of it all is a 40-foot tree decorated in green and red lights — the Christmas light, of course — complete with a music and illumination show. Go ice skating, visit a local farm to see reindeer, or stroll around the traditional German Christkindlmarkt.
If you choose this Christmas town for your holiday, make sure to book a room at the German-inspired Bavarian Inn Lodge. This village’s signature hotel has been drawing visitors for decades, and for very good reasons: you’ll truly feel transported to Europe.
