One of the best things about California is its amazing climate. That’s why a lot of people desire to relocate here, although the household median price is quite high compared to other states in the country. California is a very popular tourist destination, which is further explained by the fact that there are pleasant winters and scorching, dry summers there.
Additionally, California is often associated with Italy or Greece, mostly because they share two major things in common: tourists and a superb climate. And by the way, the latest is my favorite, so aside from the topic, I highly recommend you visit at least once!

World’s best theme parks
During my travel experiences, I managed to get to Disneyland Paris, and I have to admit it was amazing. But on the other hand, last year I went to California at Universal Studios Hollywood, and it was twice as good as Paris! And my next go-to destination is Legoland. If you book the tickets a couple of weeks before your visit you might get some discounts. On their website, the prices for a family pack start from $160 per person. Don’t say I didn’t tell you!

In-N-Out Burger
One of the best things in California is definitely the famous fast-food chain called In-N-Out Burger, founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park. If you haven’t had the opportunity to indulge in any of the Animal Style offerings on the not-so-secret menu at In-N-Out Burger, you probably know at least someone who has and can’t stop raving about them. And I, for example, am one of them too!
You can’t go wrong with In-N-Out if you want to sample traditional, real Californian fast food. Considerably the most well-known fast-food business in the state, it is a must-try when traveling through the area. Especially if you are looking for fresh ingredients!
Compared to other fast-food chains in the area, In-N-Out Burger is certainly the best.
Griffith Observatory
Among the unique things in California that you must try as a tourist is visiting Griffith Observatory. Why do I say “unique?” Because in a place called the City of Stars, it would be such a pity to not go to an observatory where you will be able to see the entire city from above, and if you are lucky and there are no clouds that night, you will witness a spectacular view of the sky.
You can visit it from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Redwood tree forests
One of my favorite things in California is nature itself, mostly because I am a big city girl who is a bit tired of crowds and noise and from time to time I enjoy going out in the wilderness.
There are some of the world’s tallest trees in California, some of which reach heights of more than 350 feet! These redwood woods are a popular tourist destination because of their famed beauty and grandeur. And believe me when I say everybody takes pictures here!
It feels as though you’ve been transported to a fanciful fairyland as you stroll amid the imposing redwoods as sunshine streams through the tree crown above you.
These redwoods are not only physically spectacular, but they also have a significant ecological impact on the area. The Northern Spotted Owl and the Marbled Murrelet are just two examples of the stunning variety of plant and animal life found in the woodlands.
So, whether you love nature as much as I do, whether you’re visiting the area, or whether you want to spend some time away from the bustle of the city, The Redwood Forest is a must!
Stunning beaches
Last but not least the top unique things in California are its stunning beaches and once you get there you won’t want to leave anytime soon! The state is widely known for its stunning beaches, which draw millions of tourists every year. Santa Monica, Venice, Laguna Beach, Malibu, and Coronado Beach are five of the most famous ones that have turquoise, crystal-clear waters and soft, golden sands.
