Atlanta wins the title for this one. You may have thought that LAX gets this one, however, the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is welcoming over 110 million tourists. That being said, this airport is the busiest in the world!

5. Over 60,000 people fly over the U.S. at the same as you are
Seems like a lot of people, doesn’t it? Well, it’s true, more than 60,000 people will be up in the air just like you are. It may feel like you’re the only one up there in the skies, but in reality, there are thousands of people feeling the same as you are, at any given time.
6. Co-pilots aren’t allowed to eat the same things as the pilots
There’s a standard protocol that the two must be served different meals. Sounds a little bit odd doesn’t it? In fact, there’s a totally logical explanation for it, it’s not some hierarchical thing, but if one needs to go to the toilet or gets food poisoning, the other must be able to take over.
We would’ve never thought of that!
7. Money or gifts make you less happy compared to traveling
I know it sounds like the biggest cliche, but it’s true, money spent on a trip will bring you much more happiness than an ordinary gift or money in general. This proves that memories and a fun time are more fulfilling than any material thing.

Water vapors! Those trails left behind by planes are nothing more than just vapors of water. What’s even more interesting is the fact that the way the line looks, will predict the weather. For example, if the line is short then the weather will be good and so will the humidity, but if it’s long then you should expect some storms coming along soon.

9. You will be surprised to learn which city has the most hotel rooms
The city that never sleeps, Las Vegas, has the most hotel rooms in the WORLD! That is quite impressive! There are over 150,000 rooms in the whole city. Good luck trying to pick one that suits you.
10. What’s the tallest mountain in the world? It’s not Everest
Lots of people seem to believe it’s Mount Everest, but that’s far from being true. It’s actually Mauna Kea, located on the island of Hawaii. It’s not exactly a mountain, more of a dormant volcano. It’s as tall as 32,000 feet high starting from the seafloor, being twice the base-to-peak height of Mount Everest.
11. You know that door on the plane that you can’t open? Well…
You can’t physically open it. Ignore all of the action movies you’ve seen so far, because of the high pressure and the air it’s impossible to open it, basically, the air shuts the door. That still doesn’t mean you should try and open it!
12. Oh, and, about the Liberty Bell
You know the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, but what you didn’t know is the fact that it has a spelling mistake. If you take a closer look, you’ll notice that the name of the state is spelled wrong, it’s “Pensylvania”.
Fun fact: It’s spelled the same way in the Constitution, but there are a lot of scholars who agree that it’s correct both ways.
13. Central Park is bigger than a country
That’s a travel fact we never expected! We already knew that this breathtaking place is HUGE, but how big is it really? Well, it’s apparently bigger than Monaco. Either Monaco is too small, or Central Park is bigger than it needs to be.
Looking at the bright side, if you ever feel the need to travel you can take some time off to do a full tour of the park, it will feel the same way.
14. A state that has more cows than residents
In South Dakota, the number of cows is four times bigger than the number of residents. Yes, that is indeed correct. The cow to people ratio is over 4%. And with that South Dakota takes the prize for the state with the most bovines.

Some researchers say that after going on a vacation or a trip, people’s creativity and relaxation sides increase. Traveling actually encourages people to feel more positive about life. Well, in that case, we have the perfect excuse for our boss whenever we want to take a vacation!
16. It’s never 100 degrees in Florida, well, not quite
Florida tends to get very warm, however, the highest recorded temperatures ever were 99 degrees Fahrenheit, and that was in the ’80s. Even though we could swear it’s sometimes 150 degrees because our bodies feel like they’re melting, it’s all just in our heads.
17. Did you know there’s a royal palace in the U.S.?
There’s only one palace of the sort in the whole country and it is located in Honolulu. It is right downtown and, nowadays, it’s a symbol of Hawaiian independence. The Iolani Palace was built in 1882 and it was the home of the last monarchs, more specifically King Kalakaua and his sister Queen Lili’uokalani.
18. You know those stories of people losing their luggage?
You will be shocked to learn that every minute almost 50 pieces of luggage are being lost.
19. Flying from one specific part to another amplifies jet lag
Quite unexpected, and to be frank with you, odd. Traveling from the west to the east amplifies the process.
