I love quiet towns!

What exactly makes a town quiet and safe? When I was a teenager, I used to think that my life would be better if I lived in a huge city where everyone was busy running around. I wanted to have a hectic life that would require me to always be on the go.

But when I grew up and actually became a mature person, I realized that I liked being part of a community and actually living in a place where people knew each other and said hi to one another in the morning.

And that’s why I decided to retire to a small and quiet town where I could easily do the thing that I like the most, which is writing, and have a cozy and relaxed life, far away from the craziness of a big city.

A quiet town can sometimes mean a safe city where the probability of crimes and robberies is smaller compared to bigger and more popular locations.

If we’re talking about our beautiful country, you’ve probably noticed that many cities have a high risk of dangerous and violent attacks, and we have no idea when things are going to get better. The official statistics from the FBI stated that things are actually worse compared to last year, so we can only hope for the best.

However, this article isn’t meant to make you upset, but to give you the happy news that there are some quiet towns in the US that are beautiful and also safe. The officials in these quiet towns and cities made a lot of effort to control the crime rate, and let me tell you that they did an excellent job!

If you want to live somewhere where you won’t be afraid to walk alone at night or where you won’t spend your entire day worrying about someone stealing your belongings because you forgot to lock the backdoor, consider moving to one of the places. Without further ado, let’s take a look at 6 of the safest and prettiest quiet towns and cities in America.

1. Arlington, VA

If you’ve never been to Arlington, this is your sign to book a trip there because it’s worth it! You might be tempted to say pass on it given the fact that it is close to the city of Washington, which is quite popular for the high number of crimes there. However, the thing is that Arlington is actually pretty safe, and experts say that the number of violent acts there has been dropping lately.

This small and quiet town is known for its safe neighborhoods, which is exactly why many people from Washington, DC, decided to move there. And if you don’t believe me saying this, here’s something else you should know: officials said that Alameda is safer compared to 75% of other beautiful cities in the United States.

If you think that moving to Arlington will force you to say goodbye to the beautiful landscapes you typically see in big cities, that’s not true. This quiet town will impress you with its pretty waters and walkable urban villages, such as Ballston and Cyrstal City.

There are also amazing places to enjoy a nice theater spectacle, and if you prefer spending your morning in some dreamy cafes, that’s definitely the place for you.

2. Gilbert, AZ

Did you know that many years ago Gilbert was known as the “Hay Capital of the World”? The story of this quiet town started a century ago, when the land was actually a farming community, fueled in 1911 by the construction of the Roosevelt Dam and the Eastern and Consolidated Canals.

This quiet town is located in Maricopa County, southeast of Phoenix, and within the city’s metro area, which is ideal for anyone who wants to spend the day exploring this magical place.

Even though at first it was only considered the “Hay Capital of the World,” nowadays it’s actually one of the largest municipalities in Arizona (5th place, to be more precise), and it covers more than 60 square miles.

The weather here is absolutely fantastic, and there are quite a few things to do and see, but the best part about this quiet town is that the crime rate is extremely low here—less than half of Arizona’s regular crime rate.

3. Irvine, CA

If you’re looking for a safe and quiet place to retire, consider Irvine, California! This gorgeous place keeps growing, and its population is more than 217,000, but security is their main priority.

Even though more and more people have decided to settle down on this land, it’s still at the top of the list of towns and cities with the least violent attacks. And here’s something that you’ll like even more about it: it’s considered to be one of the safest places in the entire country, and that’s surely something important!

People living in this quiet town are also very passionate about community, and they’re involved in many outreach programs that bring them closer to one another, such as counseling the citizens or guiding different support systems in emergency situations.

4. Arvada, Colorado

I love spending my free time in a way that makes me feel happy and excited, and let me tell you that sometimes going out to dinner makes me very cheerful, and shopping is the joy of my life, so I can’t say no to that.

If you’re like me and shopping makes you happy, Arvada is the place for you. This amazing, quiet town also has amazing festivals and cultural events throughout the year, so get ready to have a fantastic social life.

One of the things that interest people the most when they come to this town is the rate of crime. And let me tell you that this adorable place is actually one of the towns in the USA with the least amount of violent attacks, so it’s perfect for families who love to live in a peaceful and friendly location.

5. Bellevue, WA

If you love French culture, you’ll be happy to discover that the name of this gorgeous quiet town, Bellvue, actually comes from the term “belle vue,” which means “beautiful view.” I can’t remember if I told you or not, but I’m absolutely in love with New York City. Well, first of all, fashion is my passion, and that huge city is one of fashion’s capitals, so yeah, I can surely say that it’s the love of my life.

But besides the great street style I can see there, one thing I like the most is the fact that nature and modern buildings come together in a very beautiful way. Think of Central Park, for example, where you’re taking a stroll between the tall, green trees, but you see the skyscrapers peeking through. That’s amazing.

But one thing I’m not a big fan of is that it’s very crowded. However, I did my research and came across the city of Bellevue, which is definitely one worth visiting. The best part of it is that it has that combination of nature and modern-looking buildings that I think are breathtaking.

Just behind Bellevue, you can see the gorgeous snow-capped Cascade Mountain Range, and that always leaves me speechless. Another great thing about this quiet town is that its population is a little over 110,000.

If you want to check it out, you should definitely do it, especially during the biennial Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition, a festival that attracts thousands of tourists to its pretty park downtown to see all those stunning three-dimensional artworks from artists from all around America.

This beautiful town is also great for people who want to live a peaceful life because it’s one of the safest places in Washington, and the police there really know how to keep things in order.

6. Fremont, CA

If you want to live in a safe and pretty city, you should put Fremont on your list. This place is considered to be a sandwich between Warm Springs and Irvington community plan areas, but trust me, you’ll like it very much.

It has a population of a bit over 230,000 and is one of the most populous cities in the Bay Area. And if you want to be close to the popular Silicon Valley network of businesses, that’s the place to move to.

If you decide to take your chance and move to Fremont, you should know that the cost of living is quite high. But there’s also a good side to the story: the crime rate is low, and the police are doing everything they can to keep it that way.
