#3 Okinawa, Japan
Maybe beaches are truly not your thing at all and you want to go somewhere more adventurous—a whole new country where you can visit and explore a new culture. One of our choices would be Okinawa! While Japan does experience all four seasons of the year, depending on where you are in the country, the temperatures vary drastically, and in the south, it is generally warmer than most would believe. Typical winter temperatures in Okinawa go as high as 70 degrees and as low as 57.
The best places to visit in the winter months are the southern islands of Okinawa, where you can enjoy everything the city has to offer. The mild weather makes for great bike trips around the cities and the region, and you will have an easy time renting bikes and even getting around as there are plenty of paths already set up and marked.
Other amazing things besides the cuisine and tourist attractions that you can do include the Ryukyu Lantern Festival, which is held from early December to late March each year, along with humpback whale spotting and even an early cherry blossom bloom if you go towards the end of February.
