#2 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
If the white sand beaches are not as appealing as they are to some other people, and maybe you would like to go somewhere close to the United States, why not look at our neighbors? Puerto Vallarta may be known for how everyone congregates there during spring break, but this Pacific coast town is so much more than just a place where undergrads go to the party.
During the winter months, the temperatures are amazing, with a high of around 81 degrees and a low of 63, so there will be nothing too extreme but definitely warm. And there are some amazing things you can do if you do not like to sunbathe. Every winter there are organized whale watches in Banderas Bay, as well as a lot of amazing places to visit such as the local artisan markets, quiet waterfalls, shore hikes in Yelapa Beach, and even some fun boat rides you can catch.
For us, this sounds like a wonderful relaxing vacation away from the cold at home!
