Our close neighbor to the north is home to various destination spots… and we are not even talking about Niagara Falls, which of course, has an unsurpassed uniqueness, but we’ve all heard about this location. So that’s why we’ve decided to highlight those that aren’t so popular among Americans, such as Jasper National Park or Banff.

1. Prince Edward Island, Canada
Also known as PEI or the ‘Birthplace of Canada,’ Prince Edward Island is actually the smallest province in Canada. However, its size doesn’t matter anymore once you witness its unique beauty. From coastal views to rusty red-colored dunes, Prince Edward Island is a postcard-perfect Canadian destination.
There are literally tons of activities you can do in PEI, such as fishing, horseback riding, birdwatching, kayaking, camping, sailing, parasailing, sunbathing, digging for clams, and even whale and seal-watching. 2. Whitehorse, Canada
Ever wondered why Whitehorse was named this way? YES, somehow, a white horse was indeed involved… However, it got the name from a river because the whitecaps of the rapids on it resembled the manes of white horses. But you can also call it the ‘small city with a big backyard’ or the capital of Canada’s Yukon territory!
Now you may actually be tempted to ask what’s the fuss about it and if you really are, we’ll answer: First off, the northern lights! This is most likely the main reason why most tourists visit Whitehorse, but it’s not the only one. It also has an abundance of wildlife and each inch of it is literally an adventure playground.
Skiing, dog sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling, or snowshoeing—you name it, they have it!
3. Jasper National Park, Canada
If the Canadian Rockies ring a bell for you, you most likely know about Jasper National Park. It’s the largest national park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. However, there are countless reasons why you should visit this national park, especially during winter when the Maligne Canyon Icewalk is covered in snow and, of course, ice.
Still, if you’re not really a fan of the cold months, summer is just as good as winter to enjoy Jasper National Park’s beauty. Activities like canoeing or kayaking on Maligne Lake, hiking along the Path of the Glacier’s trail, mountain biking, or seeing it by train are must-dos on most travelers’ bucket lists.

4. Banff National Park, Canada
Only 180 miles away from Jasper National Park lies the beautiful tiny mountain town called Banff. The entire town is a Swiss experience where the luxury lifestyle and most winter activities go hand in hand. Thankfully, you can enjoy this fancy life without breaking the bank (compared to other Swiss-like locations, Banff is pretty affordable).
However, if you’re not into winter sports such as skiing, there’s no point visiting it during winter. Plus, during the summer months, you can go totally off the grid by camping (here’s the highest-rated tent on Amazon) in the national park. It’s definitely a cost-efficient way to visit Banff National Park’s uniqueness.
P.S.: Vegetarians should be aware that they are not received with open arms. Unfortunately for them, most restaurants serve venison, elk, bison, and trout.
5. Quebec City, Canada
I think we can all agree that Quebec City’s charm is indisputable. UNESCO thought the same since the city is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Being the birthplace of New France is also a plus for Quebec’s tourism. Every corner of the city is filled with history and culture, attracting tons of tourists from all over the world annually.
The Old Quebec hides behind its walls of 17th- and 18th-century buildings, dozens of boutiques and bistros, and many many historical hotspots like Musée de la Civilisation, Quartier du Petit Champlain, Château Frontenac, La Citadelle, Place Royale, and Battlefields Park.

6. Mont-Tremblant
Think of a four-word phrase that would make any wife happy (except ‘I did the dishes!’). No?! No idea?! Well, I’ll give you one: Honey, pack your bags! And luckily, this location could make most husbands happy, too, since they can take their fishing rods with them. (Did I mention snowmobile tours?!)
There is something to do for every type of person. Nature lovers checked, sports enthusiasts also checked, and, of course, there are also those who prefer food over skiing… YEP, checked that one off, as well. Just go there and you will see what we’re talking about.
