Thanks to the development of the Covid-19 vaccine, more and more countries are now back to receiving travelers. And while there is an active concern when it comes to other variants that seem to keep appearing, physical or digital proof of vaccination has become a common ground for safe traveling. So, yes, some countries have started to invite only those who are fully inoculated to visit.
For example, the U.S. is allowing vaccinated travelers to bypass the previously required quarantine. So those travelers who have completed the full vaccination scheme and a negative Covid-19 test taken within three days of travel will allow people to enter the country.
But what are the countries that are welcoming vaccinated Americans? Below, there’s a list:

Bahamas
The Bahamas welcomes the travelers who’ve completed their vaccination scheme with either Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or AstraZeneca vaccines. Those who got jabbed will be exempt from any other testing requirements or on-island testing protocols.
The Bahamas welcomes the unvaccinated as well, but only if they show proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test that’s been taken no more than five days before they arrived, plus a rapid Covid-19 antigen test on the fifth day of their vacation.
Belize
Belize abandoned Covid-19 testing requirements for those travelers who showed they have been fully vaccinated, as the Belize Tourism Board has declared. International travelers must stay at a “Gold Standard Hotel” and download the country’s health app.
On the other hand, those travelers who aren’t vaccinated are welcomed, as long as they show proof of a negative PCR Covid-19 test that’s been taken within 96 hours of travel or at least a negative rapid test within 48 hours of travel. As an alternative, travelers can pay $50 at the airport and get tested on the spot.
Bermuda
In Bermuda, vaccinated travelers must apply for a Bermuda Covid-19 Travel Authorization, which includes a negative PCR test for Covid-19 that’s been taken one to 3 days before departure, and must be submitted 24 hours before travel. When they arrive, they will be tested for Covid-19 and will be required to quarantine until they receive the results. AND following a negative test result, those travelers who got their jab won’t have to quarantine, BUT they must test on days 4, 8, and 14 of their trip. Easy-peasy…
The British Virgin Islands
Vaccinated tourists are welcomed in the British Virgin Islands, and they also have shorter quarantine measures. Those who decide to visit this place will have to show proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test that’s been taken within five days of arriving and get tested when they arrive, and quarantine until the test shows they’re negative. And as the government said, they won’t have to get tested again.
Unvaccinated travelers are welcomed as well, as long as they quarantine for four days and get tested again on the 4th day, in addition to the pre-travel and arrival tests.
Canada
Vaccinated tourists that want to enter Canada must be first tested negative for Covid-19 before traveling, and carry paper copies with them that show their vaccination records, and upload their documents to the ArriveCAN app or their website. After that, they must wait two weeks after they complete their vaccine course to enter the country.
Cambodia
Cambodia is wide open to those who got fully jabbed. Visitors can enter with a negative Covid-19 test that’s been taken 72 hours before entering the country, and proof of being fully vaccinated. Cambodia has become one of the countries in Southeast Asia with one of the biggest populations of vaccinated people.
Croatia
The U.S. travelers who have been fully vaccinated don’t have to go through any pre-arrival testing or self-isolation requirements, as Croatia’s Ministry of Interior has mentioned. Even so, those travelers who completed their vaccination scheme must arrive at least 14 days after receiving the final shot.
Alternatively, Croatia is also open for those who have not been vaccinated but requires to show proof of a negative PCR or a rapid antigen Covid-19 test that’s been taken 48 hours of arriving.
Denmark
Denmark recently reopened for those who are fully vaccinated (that are coming from specific countries, U.S. included). The vaccinated travelers won’t be required to take any PCR test for Covid-19 before they arrive, nor will be asked to quarantine. It’s important to mention that Denmark will only accept EMA-approved vaccines, such as Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.
Ecuador
Tourists that have completed their Covid-19 vaccination scheme can go to Ecuador and visit the most popular island: the Galapagos Islands. Those who aren’t completely vaccinated can also visit Ecuador, as long as they bring proof of a negative antigen test taken within 72 hours of departure.
Finland
Finland has finally reopened to all travelers who got their jabs, as long as they show proof of vaccination. However, the country allows its unvaccinated visitors that are coming from low-risk countries to enter without any proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test.
France
France is now open to some vaccinated tourists, including Americans and UK citizens. Their rules are decided, depending on how your country is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
French Polynesia
Travelers can easily enter French Polynesia once they’ve received the complete vaccination course. Those who can show proof that they have the Covid-19 antibodies can easily travel to the South Pacific archipelago. Also, vaccinated travelers must have been in the U.S. for 30 days before heading to French Polynesia, and they’re also required to test on the first and on the fourth day after they enter the country.
Germany
Germany is welcoming vaccinated Americans, but they must show proof that they’ve completed a European Medicines Agency-accepted vaccination course. If they haven’t completed their vaccination scheme, they can also show proof that they’ve recovered from Covid-19 within the past 6 months, or that they’ve tested negative within 72 hours of travel.
Georgia
Georgia is welcoming U.S. travelers that arrive by air, as the U.S. Embassy in Georgia stated. Those who got all 3 doses don’t need to get tested before arriving, nor to quarantine.
Unvaccinated travelers can also visit the country but must have a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken in the last 72 hours. Plus, they must have a follow-up PCR test on the third day after they arrive in the country and complete their traveling history and details.
Greece
Greece is fully open for those tourists who are completely vaccinated but also for those who have coronavirus antibodies or a negative test result. Travelers must come with their vaccination card or their negative PCR test. The Greek government requests visitors to fill out a Passenger Locator Form before tourists’ arrival and show proof at the borders with the form’s QR code.
Iceland
Iceland is welcoming fully vaccinated Americans to come to visit their country, without asking for any additional quarantine or mandatory testing. At the same time, those who want to visit Iceland but aren’t vaccinated can enter, as long as they show proof that they’ve been infected with the virus and recovered.
Ireland
Those Americans who are fully vaccinated can easily enter the country, without being asked to quarantine when they arrive. Even so, they must show proof of their vaccination status when they enter. The country is also open for unvaccinated tourists, as long as they present a negative Covid-19 test and self-quarantine for five days.
Israel
Those travelers who have completed the vaccination scheme can now enter Israel for a month, as long as they’ve received their latest Covid-19 dose in the past 6 months, with some exceptions. Children who have fully recovered from Covid-19 in the last 6 months will be allowed to enter with those who have recovered from Covid-19 and have exceeded their 6-month mark, but they have at least one vaccine certified by the World Health Organization.
Italy
Italy is now open to vaccinated travelers that are coming from the U.S. and will no longer require them to quarantine when they arrive. They must show proof of their vaccination scheme, alongside a negative PCR test for Covid-19.
Malta
Malta has opened up for vaccinated Americans as of the summer of 2021. Americans must upload their vaccination information on an app to enter Malta.
Morocco
American travelers (alongside other tourists from other countries that Morocco has put on their “List A”) can enter the country with proof of a completed vaccination scheme or a negative PCR test taken 48 hours before arrival. Even so, we strongly advise you not to visit Morocco at this time of the year, considering the new Omicron variant that has developed in Africa.
