Alcatraz
One of the most interesting things to do in Northern California is to visit Alcatraz. The famous former maximum security federal prison is somewhere on an island in San Francisco Bay, California. It’s also known as “the Rock”, and it was a military fort long before being a military prison and then a federal one.
Nowadays, it’s a national park, and it has been designated an important National History Landmark. During its time, many important criminals were prisoners there, such as Al Capone, Robert Franklin Stroud, Machine Gun Kelly, and Bumpy Johnson. If you want to experience the chilling air that would give goosebumps to the strongest men, visit Alcatraz.
