Right down south of Birmingham, Homewood is the most walkable place in Alabama. With a walk score of 42 out of 100, this can be your go-to walking destination in the state!
Other great walking options include Tuscaloosa (33/100) and Mobile (32/100).
You will definitely need a car in the least walkable Alabama towns, which include Oxford (10/100) and Trussville (10/100).
Alaska – Fairbanks (32/100)
Located within the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, Fairbanks is the most walkable place in Alaska. With a walk score of 32 out of 100, you can enjoy street walking and bar hopping.
With a similar walk score, you can also opt for Anchorage (31/100).
The least walkable locations in Alaska include Juneau (21/100) and Badger (3/100).
Arizona – Tempe (54/100)
Super close to Phoenix, Tempe can offer enjoyable walks. With a score of 54 out of 100, you might want to try this out next time you’re out and about.

Connecticut – New Haven (68/100)
Both socially active and close to the ocean, New Haven has a walk score of 68.
Right below that, you have Hartford (67/100), Bridgeport (66/100), and Stamford (55/100).
The least walkable towns are North Haven (19/100), Shelton (18/100), and Trumbull (16/100).
Delaware – Wilmington (74/100)
Although the Delaware list is quite limited, you can enjoy a good walk in Wilmington with a score of 74 out of 100. Not bad!
