Anchorage, Alaska, USA

If you’re up for spending New Year’s Eve in a place with an outstanding view, I warmly recommend you check out Anchorage. There are many beds, breakfasts, and vacation cabins close to this northern Alaskan city, which is only six miles from the Ted Stevens Anchorage airport.

Why should you choose this location for the celebration? Besides being one of the most popular last-minute trips, the main, let’s call it a party, will be held downtown. I suggest you choose this destination if you’re also interested in combining both partying and enjoying some time in the snow away from the crowded cities.

You can try skiing, sledding, or skating, but also walk in nature with a camera in your hand ready to capture all the beauty around you. For large groups of people, you can check to see if there are bigger cabins and organize your own NYE party. Either way, you will have fun!

Honolulu, Hawaii

Honolulu is at the exact opposite pole to Anchorage, but if you’re ready to spend New Year’s Eve in a totally different environment, Honolulu awaits. Why do I recommend this as one of the best last-minute trips? Let’s see.

Joining a traditional luau, like the Waikiki Starlight Luau at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, is an unforgettable experience you won’t find just anywhere! Plus, if you’re looking for a great way to ring in the New Year, don’t miss the annual “Party of the Year” at Aloha Tower Marketplace, just a short stroll up Ala Moana Boulevard. It’s a celebration you’ll love!

Before the midnight fireworks show, there are rides, food trucks, DJs, and live music. Take a fireworks cruise on the Dolphin Star or Star of Honolulu for an alternative perspective of the New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Sayulita, Mexico

Sayulita, located in Mexico, is less crowded than Honolulu. It’s a great spot for the NYE celebration because it’s a safe place, and I write this from my experience and from what I learned about the place by reading other people’s reviews.

So, if you decide you will leave your vehicle at home to avoid the traffic and go by plane, you will be happy to know that Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the nearest airport, is only thirty miles away.

It is noteworthy that the city is well-known for its fresh seafood, so you should treat yourself to a variety of local eateries. Sayulita is regarded as the perfect destination for family vacations. It is known for having a strong sense of community and is laid back and tranquil. It is also praised as a paradise for adventurers! Engage in water sports, explore the jungle, or work out in a tropical environment to kick off the new year. Better yet, just unwind on the shore.

Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida

Are you going to spend New Year’s Eve with the juniors too, and you’re afraid they’ll get bored soon? What about going to Walt Disney World in Florida? They throw parties annually, and it’s for both adults and kids!

Celebrate the start of a new year with tasty dining, lively drinks, spectacular dance parties, and captivating fireworks that will bring joy to your children’s hearts. Walt Disney World offers special packages at several Disney hotels every December 31. Dining at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort while taking in the Magic Kingdom fireworks is one of the most well-liked options. At Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the Atlantic Dance Hall will host additional events to ring in the new year with music, delectable treats, good vibes, and a touch of Disney magic.

Even though it’s one of the last-minute trips worth putting on the list, I recommend checking for available spots soon after you read this article, since they tend to sell out pretty quickly.

San Diego, California, USA

Seems like warm destinations are among the most popular last-minute trips this year. So I couldn’t go forward without adding San Diego to the list too. After landing at San Diego Airport, you should go to your hotel or vacation rental to rest, take a shower, and relax for a while because, believe us, you’ll need every ounce of energy for a night out on New Year’s Eve.

If you want to make your stay here as awesome as possible, I recommend attending the San Diego Pier Pressure Moonlight Cruise New Year’s Eve Party to ring in the new year. If cruising is more your style, there’s also the San Diego New Year’s Eve On the Boardwalk Cruise. We guarantee that New Year’s Eve in San Diego will be ready to rock, regardless of the location you select.

Before leaving, don’t forget to stock up on a couple of NYE supplies. If you’re going with a large group of people, check out this set of 12 Happy New Year Eyeglasses Decorations. They’re on sale on Amazon at only $11.99. Start the year in style!

Times Square, New York City

As far as I know, a lot of our readers are from New York or around it, so I thought I might come up with this idea. Since not everyone can afford to go out of town for holidays, what do you think about spending the NYE in Times Square? If you don’t mind the crowds and all you want is to watch the fireworks and have fun with your loved ones no matter the destination, then I recommend you participate in the best countdown in the entire world.

Witness the historic ball drop, concerts, and the never-sleeping pulse of New York City as millions of people participate in this spectacle.

Additionally, remember that the majority of Midtown Manhattan’s streets will be closed in advance of the New Year’s festivities and that the only ways to get to Times Square will be via 6th and 8th Avenue. So I recommend leaving your car at home and coming by public transport.

Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is the place to go if you want great Southern cuisine, live music, and a little bit of history. Explore the historic Ryman Auditorium or head to the famous Broadway Street for live performances and honky-tonk bars. Budget-friendly lodging options include motels and Airbnb, and free activities like a walk in Centennial Park help keep expenses down.

Gulf Shores, Alabama

Gorgeous white sand beaches, reasonably priced seafood shacks, and a charming coastal atmosphere can all be found in Gulf Shores, making it an inexpensive sunny getaway. Activities like dolphin-watching tours and nature hikes at Gulf State Park are reasonably priced and suitable for families, and there are plenty of inexpensive beachfront motels or vacation rentals to choose from.
